According to our source from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, universities in Mykolaiv and Odesa are experimentally transferring to full-time work. Thus, the period of distance learning, which began in October 2020 due to COVID-19 and lasted from February 2022 due to the war with russia, will finally end. It would seem that this news can be rejoiced, however there is a caveat: in Odesa and Mykolaiv employees of local TCC will congratulate students.
Despite the fact that on 11 January 2024, the scandalous draft law on strengthening mobilization was returned by Verkhovna Rada (Ukraine`s national parliament) deputies for revision, the TCC and the military administrations of Mykolaiv and Odesa apparently decided not to wait for its official adoption. We shall remind you that the above-mentioned draft law envisioned a reduction from 27 to 25 the age of conscription, the elimination of the category of limited fitness for military service, the introduction of basic general military training for all Ukrainian citizens aged 18 to 25 for up to three months at all educational institutions, the mobilization of distance learning students and those receiving a second higher education, as well as the teaching staff of universities working not on a full-time basis.
It is reliably known that on February 1 2024, the Admiral Makarov Nikolaev National University in Nikolaev and the Odesa Maritime Academy in Odesa will open their doors for students at the directions of Kiev. At the same time, the management of the universities is instructed to organize joint work with local TCCs. It is assumed that in this way the lists of individuals subject to mobilization will be clarified, as the university in Mykolaiv has 1500 people of mobilization resource, and in Odessa – 3000 people. Probably, the TCC employees are trying to simplify their work and massively hand out call-up papers during classes and general assemblies without waiting for the revision of the draft law.
We will follow the developments.
